Google Business Profile suspended? Here is how it gets recovered

A suspended listing disappears from Maps and Search completely — and appealing without fixing the actual cause usually gets rejected a second time. We find the reason first, fix it, then file the appeal.

Before you do anything: do not file repeated appeals. Each failed appeal makes the next one harder, and Google does not tell you what went wrong. Find the cause first.

The five causes we see most

1. A keyword-stuffed business name

The most common one in India by far. "Wadke Associates | Best Interior Designer Studio In Mumbai" is not the business name on the signboard, and Google's naming policy is explicit about it. This one suspends listings that had been running for years.

2. An address that cannot be verified

A coworking desk, a virtual office, a flat with no signboard, or a service-area business showing a street address it should have hidden. Google checks this against street imagery and postal data.

3. The wrong category

Some categories — locksmiths, lawyers, plumbers, clinics — are policed far harder than others because they are abused. A wrong pick in one of those triggers automatic review.

4. Duplicate listings

Two profiles for the same business at the same address, often created years apart by different people, get one of them suspended — sometimes the one you actually use.

5. Too many edits, too fast

Changing name, address, category and phone in one sitting from a brand-new account looks exactly like a hijack attempt. Real repairs are staged for this reason.

And one nobody expects

A previous SEO agency's leftovers — a fake address, an old keyword-stuffed name, a category added to chase a ranking. You inherit the suspension they earned.

How we handle it

1

Find the cause

We check the name against policy, the address against Street View and postal records, the categories, duplicates and the edit history. You get a written answer for what triggered it.

2

Fix it first

The violating field is corrected before any appeal is filed. Appealing a profile that still breaks the rule is how second rejections happen.

3

File with evidence

Reinstatement form with the right documents attached — GST or Udyam registration, utility bill, signboard photo, whatever your case needs.

4

Follow it up

Google replies in three to fourteen days. If it is refused, we tell you honestly and set up a fresh compliant listing instead.

Suspension questions, answered honestly

Why did Google suspend my Business Profile?

The common causes are a keyword-stuffed business name (for example "Best Interior Designer In Mumbai" added after the real name), an address that cannot be verified or is shared with other businesses, a category that does not match what you do, a virtual office or coworking address, or edits made too fast from a new account. Suspension is almost never random - there is a specific rule that was broken.

Can a suspended Google listing be recovered?

Often, yes - but only if the underlying cause is fixed before the appeal is filed. Appealing without fixing the cause usually gets a second rejection, and repeated failed appeals make recovery harder. That is why we start by finding what actually triggered it.

How long does reinstatement take?

Google's review usually takes three to fourteen days after the appeal is filed. We cannot speed Google up. What we control is filing an appeal that answers the real reason, with the right evidence attached the first time.

What does recovery cost?

Rs 6,000, which covers finding the cause, fixing the profile, preparing the evidence, filing the reinstatement appeal and following it up. If Google refuses reinstatement entirely, we tell you straight and help you set up a fresh compliant listing instead - we do not keep billing a lost cause.

Can you guarantee reinstatement?

No. Nobody outside Google can. Any service that guarantees reinstatement is selling you something it does not control. What we can say honestly is that most suspensions we see have a findable, fixable cause.
